John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people through his songs of pop-folk and many of them inspired by Colorado. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell in New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and settled down in Aspen. Denver's iconic anthems for Colorado have inspired many people to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown of Colorado Music Hall of Fame, the director of this hall of fame said: "I don't believe there is another performer that embodies Colorado as John Denver." Denver is the Hall of Fames' initial inductee, was honoured with the award in the year 2011. Denver has been the symbol of Colorado to the people all over. Certainly in my travels you meet someone from the other end of the planet, someone who is from New Zealand and you say "I'm of Colorado and the first thing that comes out of their mouths is Oh John Denver! Brown said. Take Me Home Country Roads is Denver's only Top 10 Hit as a Solo Artist after working within small Folk Music groups. The track was written by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the track for Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the song's potential the moment he heard it for the first time. The singer recorded the song just a few days later after performing it to an enthusiastic audience at Washington D.C.
